Matt McCabe 2D and Material Concepts Project Three

For my first shot i chose a view that I see most everyday, my left foot sturdily placed on my skateboard deck with my right leg swinging pendulum style by  my hip. My skate board and foot are the focal point, however, I used movement of the street moving backwards while I'm still heading towards my destination to re design the natural motion. I tried to balance the composition of the frame to mimic the natural view of my eyes when I am skateboarding. I find rhythm in the way that I push, I tried to focus on pushing in triplets to create a sense of rhythm.

For my second shot I took a before and after picture of my living room upon my arrival and action. This a paradoxical to my preferred way of living, I prefer to design my belongings very organized. I have reversed the norms much like I rewound the skateboarding video for presentation. I'm putting emphasis on the "correct" way a living space should be organized. The first picture is shot from the angle of my point of view before I walked in the room and re designed it. This has unity through its balanced peaceful composition. The second picture is shot from the angle seeming that I have passed through the room and made it the way I prefer it. This picture has more variety and emphasis due to all the clutter, chaos, and death grips blasting.

For the third one I chose to re design the area in which I sleep. Presenting a sense of unity through the contentment with sleeping on the hard ground with a skateboard as a pillow. The untrained eye puts emphasis on the environment not being suitable for a restful nights sleep. I am fully clothed, shoes and all, wearing the same thing as when I skated home. I tried to use the white shoes as a focal point. Sleeping with shoes can be looked at as being exposed or vulnerable. My environment is also a contributor to the emphasis on vulnerability. Don't worry I have a bed.

For the fourth I re designed the format in which I take a shower or in other words design  myself. I'm using variety by taking the different steps one would take in order to bathe themselves and then doing those steps in a unorthodox order. The emphasis is one me being that I am the only one in the shot and my behavior is unorthodox. I wanted to be naked but I wasn't sure on the boundaries so I kept it PG. I tried to give a sense of contentment with my shower technique, after all my house doesn't have a washer or dryer yet, so I've considered this technique prior to this project :)
